Cash on Delivery for your online store

A large share of Indian online orders are still Cash on Delivery. Turning COD off loses sales; leaving it fully open brings fake orders and returns. Here is how to run it well.

How COD money reaches you

With Shiprocket, the courier collects cash, and Shiprocket remits it to your bank on its remittance cycle after delivery. Trozly takes no fee on COD orders.

Cut RTO (return to origin)

  • Set a COD fee (₹30–₹50) so serious buyers prefer prepaid
  • Set a maximum COD order value
  • Give a prepaid discount
  • Call or WhatsApp to confirm high-value COD orders before dispatch
  • Use pincode checks — Trozly shows delivery ETA and COD availability per pincode

Switch COD on in Trozly

Admin → Settings → Payments → Cash on Delivery. Set the fee and the maximum value. COD shows at checkout only where it is allowed.

Questions

Does Shopify allow COD in India?

Yes, as a manual payment method. Shopify doesn’t charge its extra transaction fee on COD, but most Indian stores add a paid COD/checkout app.
